How Can God Have No Beginning or Ending?

Most people struggle with the idea that God is infinite (without beginning or ending). God is also purported to be everywhere at the same time. Supposedly, He can hear everyone's prayers in the same moment. These and other such concepts can be difficult to accept.

The difficulties in comprehending these principles cause many to struggle to accept the reality of God's existence. The idea that a being can defy everything we understand about reality creates a lot of confusion. Although it may be impossible to get our hands completely around some of these abstract concepts, I want to put it within a framework that will give you some handles for relating to God outside of your boxes.

You will need to make extensive use of your imagination for this answer. Consider that Einstein said that imagination is more important than knowledge. As such, your imagination will allow you to venture into realities that experiential knowledge cannot cross. So, put on your imagination cap and let's get started. When I took that breath, I really DID enjoy it. That was amazing writing.

Consider "Flatland", Ray Martin , 7/14/2009 6:27:07 PM
"Flatland," by Edwin A. Abbott, takes a similar approach to describing how the supernatural isn't perhaps all that "super-" after all. We are simply 3-dimensional creatures living in a 11-or-12 dimensional world. If time itself is multi-dimensional, then with just a bit of imagination I can picture God himself experiencing yesterday, today and tomorrow simultaneously, because he has the senses to perceive it all. It's like trying to describe hot pink to a blind man - just because he can't experience hot pink doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Hey John! Nice article. :) This actually gave me a revelation on something I've been trying to understand for a while. Contemplative prayer or prayer of silence. Am more motivated to continue on in it(silent prayer). Thanks!
