In considering what to make of the person of Jesus, there seems to be a logical starting point. Jesus claimed that He was God. Furthermore, He claimed to have played a key role in the creation of our universe and life. If this is true, we have some fundamental evidence which should either support or discredit His claims. A substantial amount of information is available to us about the historical person of Jesus. We also have a considerable amount of evidence within our reality from which we could draw some conclusions about its Creator. That is, by examining the traits of our reality and life, we should be able to piece together a basic profile of our Creator's personality. Then, we should be able to compare these two profiles. This should give us some preliminary basis upon which to determine whether there is any merit to His claims. Granted, this may not provide us with enough information to convince anyone of His authenticity or fraudulence, but it does give us a good starting point. So, based on what we know about both, how do they compare?
