Project Description

The purpose of this project was to explore Nova Scotia and Vancouver respectively and post Instagram pictures, stories and resources about reducing impacts on our waterways and how to enjoy nature while leaving no trace. We hope that out Instagram page will be used to find new places to explore from a tourist perspective and educate individuals on how to minimize pollution and leave no trace while enjoying nature. We also created a Blog called Sea2Seaster where we discussed the places we traveled to, whether they were accessible, when would be the best time of the year to visit them, and an overall rating. Another section on our blog featured hiking safety and environmental health information for our followers to access.

What was your biggest challenge?

I was not able to collect water quality data on the paddleboard that I was hoping to collect because it arrived too late so if I were to do it again, I would hope to get it sooner so I could add this to the final deliverable and talk about water quality on these hikes/beaches.

What was your most valuable takeaway?

We were able to learn more about the benefits of sharing information through social media. This was the first time that either of us have created and maintained a blog.
